1973: Birth in Toyota, adjacent to Nagoya, famed for its automotive prowess.

1983: A manga titled “Oda Nobunaga” ignites my fascination with the Sengoku era, marking the start of my karate journey.

1991: Post high school, I embarked on a technical career at a local newspaper, starting my solo life in Nagoya, awakening to the Sengoku period landmarks that dot the vicinity.

2002: Marriage with a fellow history enthusiast, leading to shared explorations of historical sites.

2004: Transitioned to an editing role amidst departmental downsizing, where I battled with the nuances of the Japanese language, leading to a newfound appreciation for human connections and proper etiquette.

2008: Took on the mantle of a soccer beat reporter, experiencing a life of early dawns and late dusks but cherishing the fresh interactions and stories.

2013: Transitioned back to an editorial role, finding more time to indulge in marathon running, laying the groundwork for my blogging journey through historical runs around Nagoya.

2015: Faced challenges in the Okumikawa Power Trail, fell in love with the endurance and spirit of ultra-marathoning with the completion of the Shibamata 100K.

2016: Continued with marathons and embraced trail running, finding solace and inspiration in the serene landscapes around Nagoya.

2021: Discovered a profound appreciation for sake, visiting breweries and being stunned by the exquisite flavors found in Iga and Yuya Onsen in Okumikawa.

2023: Due to persistent knee pain from childhood karate injuries, shifted focus from marathoning to walking, realizing everyone’s praise for Nagoya as an ideal place to live, inspiring me to launch a blog to spread Nagoya’s joy to the world.

2024: Kickstarted the year by prepping this blog, aiming to build a community of readers and dreaming of the day when someone would visit Nagoya inspired by my stories. Launched my first post in January, reflecting on its charm, and cherished a momentous drink with my nephew, newly 20, marking a milestone of shared memories and aspirations.
